Yogaaaaaaah!

So, today is Thursday and thus marks the third time I've done yoga this week. Bikram yoga that is. Boy, what a treacherous workout it is but oddly exhilarating at the same time. Five minutes into the first set of breathing exercises, I think I am going to pass out. The feeling goes away and remerges once I am hanging down and sweat is dripping into my eyes and my high arched insoles are aching from being stretched out. I am out of breath and praying that I don't pass out in front of all these people and if I did, would they all just stand around me watching me turn blue or would they try CPR whilst calling 911? Neither one of these scenarios seemed very appealing to me as I felt mere seconds away from them. Nonetheless, I do feel very proud of myself for going and trying my damndest even though I was struggling the whole time. I hope I don't turn into a crazy yoga lady with hairy legs, an outdoor shower, and a vegan diet.

This afternoon, I returned a phone call from a woman named Alicia in Lincoln Heights. Would I be interested in tutoring adults to read? Would I ever!!

Also, just around the corner from my house is a convalescent hospital. I got a bug up me arse and went in and volunteered. I think my first day will be next week and I will be assisting with a trip to the local Carrows!

I hope that 2008 marks a year of personal fulfillment that I have not felt in many years and also represents my service to others rather than others service to me.

The garden is really starting to look ravishing and all springy and fresh. Pictures to follow. The kitchen has taken shape, as well. Pictures to follow of course...if I can get it together.
